Tolerant people are the happiest,” Marston wrote in a magazine essay in 1939, so “why not get rid of costly prejudices that hold you back?” He listed the “Six Most Common Types of Prejudice.” Eliminating prejudice number six—“Prejudice against unconventional people and non-conformists”—meant the most to him.

so intrigued by some of the people's profiles of people who seem so amazing to me right up until I erad about their sexual fantasies and I go, sigh, well, that's not me, so should I even say hello? but they seem like such awesome people otherwise.
even though I don't want what any of these people want.. at least not in that way..
but I decided to write to one of them, because he really did seem just such an awesome personality, and we struck up a great little mini conversation about men's interest in that area and it inspired me to go and look up Wonder Woman's origins, as he mentioned something about how this was one of the first places that it was so outwardly mentioned....
.. and so I skimmed through several interesting articles (did you know they have made a movie about the people who created WonderWoman.. describing the life of Marsten and his two 'wives' so to speak. now that movie actually looks kind of interesting...
After skimming another article in the nytimes and from comicvine, esp the one in comicvine, a lot about men's interests kind of made a little bit more sense. Realizign these images or variations thereof are what our culture has grown up with, influenced us.
.
From a historical standpoint, the article in the Smithsonian even made an interesting point about distinguishing how much of an effect Disney had on people's views about women as well. (though for myself, I think I see the effects of what they mentioned about Disney more on women in our culture rather then necessarily on men).. but I could definitely see the effects of the comic world on men.
I took a class once on the history of women in American Musicals, but I think the history of women in cartoons would also be an interesting, if not a horrifying class for any feminists out there. lol.
I did like one quote from the Smithsonian article: "Tolerant people are the happiest,” Marston wrote in a magazine essay in 1939, so “why not get rid of costly prejudices that hold you back?” He listed the “Six Most Common Types of Prejudice.” Eliminating prejudice number six—“Prejudice against unconventional people and non-conformists”—meant the most to him."
As a fairly unconventional person I tend to agree with this thought.. lol.
even though I think I enjoyed my ignorance, it was an interesting insight into our cultural history.
lol.
I do like people who get me to broaden my mind a little bit (as long as they do it in a gentle way.. i often miss both my dad, my ex, and many old best friends I once had because of this)... it did leave me wondering about who next was going to be a part of our lives..
it also leaves me greatly missing my ex. a lot.
i miss him. i miss his friendship. i miss his caring. i miss his protection
please promise me if you are reading this..
if you are married or together with someoen.. even if you feel like you and them need to seperate, please stay close close friends..
learn to communicate so your relationship EVOLVES into something that just involves more people ... not something where you end your friendship or relationship
learn to communicate through your differences please so that you can encouraging and celebrating of each other, focusing on the wonderfullness of the other person in your life..
please don't ever allow yourself to feel disgust or irritation with anyone, and even if you are irritated with them still see the beauty in them PLEEASE!
